two

As I promised yesterday, I am now going to show you my finished painting.
It came out just the way I imagined it - of course there are clearly a few things that are imperfect and it's still improvable but I'm, for now, pretty satisfied with it.

This painting is called 'Two'. When I began painting,
I actually didn't know what I'll call it. But after I
saw how the painting formed I felt like it expresses
my thoughts on pregnancy.

I got the idea of painting this pregnant woman when I saw this picture on the net. I loved the colors of her skirt, the beauty of the situation, the intuitive power that pregnant women radiate. The confidence.

When I painted my interpretation of this picture I wanted it to look like as if there is nothing in the world that a pregnant woman needs than her love and her body.
All she does is caring and loving.
I wanted to illustrate her as an indepentent energy system. She and her baby are sufficient unto themselves.
The pureness of it.
She protects her baby with her own hands, no matter what.
Nothing is between them, nothing is around them.
Calm.

Talking about art: I found this on pinterest the other day and I wanted to share it with you.
I couldn't agree more.

Love.
Jay.
